Drug test and substance screening
Panel testing through a collection network and an accredited lab, on written consent, with a non-negative result always confirmed before it is ever reported.
What a drug test confirms
A drug test screens a candidate against an agreed panel of substances, through a collection network and an accredited lab. Nothing is reported as positive on a single test: any non-negative screen goes to confirmatory testing first. Consent, chain of custody and the candidate's dignity through the process matter as much as the result.
Negative, or non-negative against the panel agreed for the role, from the first test.
Any non-negative screen is retested at the lab with a more specific method before it is ever reported as positive.
An unbroken, documented handling record from collection to result, so a finding stands up if it is challenged.
Date, time and method of collection, recorded as part of a defensible process.
A refusal, substitution or adulterated sample is recorded as its own outcome, distinct from a positive result.
A result status. Not a substance-by-substance readout, and not any unrelated medical information the process happens to surface.
Sources. A collection point in the partner network, and an accredited lab for screening and any confirmatory test. The chain-of-custody record travels with the sample and is annexed to the result.
Two tests, not one
A screen and a confirmatory test answer different questions, and a report only calls something positive once both agree.
Screening test
A rapid test against the agreed panel, run at or shortly after collection.
- Tests for the substances agreed for the role.
- Returns a negative result, or a non-negative result pending confirmation.
- A non-negative screen is never reported to you as a positive result on its own.
Confirmatory test
Triggered automatically by any non-negative screen, run at the lab with a more specific method.
- Uses a more specific laboratory method than the initial screen.
- Gives the candidate the chance to provide a legitimate medical explanation, such as a prescription.
- Only a confirmed result is reported to you, alongside the screening result it followed.
How it works
Four steps, built around chain of custody rather than speed.
The candidate gives written consent, and the panel is agreed for the role before collection.
Collected through the partner network at a point convenient to the candidate, under a documented chain of custody from the first handoff.
Any non-negative screen goes to confirmatory testing at the lab before it is treated as anything more than pending.
A result status, with the chain-of-custody record annexed to the case.
