1. These terms

These terms govern use of this website and, where no separate signed agreement exists, the supply of verification services by Genuine Verification Services Private Limited. Where a signed services agreement exists, that agreement takes precedence.

2. Who may use the service

Verification services are supplied to businesses. By requesting a check you confirm you are authorised to act for the employer, that you have a lawful purpose, and that you have obtained the candidate's consent.

3. Your obligations as a client

• Obtain and retain candidate consent before instructing us.
• Instruct only checks relevant to the role.
• Give accurate candidate details. Turnaround depends on them.
• Use reports only for the employment decision they were commissioned for.
• Do not republish or resell a GVS report.

4. What we commit to

• Verify at the source and annex the supporting evidence.
• Report findings as found, without recommending a hiring decision.
• Re-verify at our cost where a candidate disputes a finding.
• Meet agreed turnaround where the source responds within normal time.

5. What we cannot control

Some checks depend on third parties: employers, universities, courts and government registries. Where a source does not respond, is closed, or holds no record, we report that outcome. It is a result, not a failure of the check, and it is chargeable.

6. Reports are evidence, not decisions

A GVS report states what was verified and what the evidence shows. The hiring decision is yours. You are responsible for making it lawfully, including under applicable anti-discrimination and labour law.

7. Fees

Priced per check, quoted against your volume and role mix. Invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice. Checks already performed are chargeable even if the hire does not proceed.

8. Confidentiality

Each party keeps the other's confidential information confidential and uses it only for the purpose it was shared. This survives the end of the engagement.

9. Data protection

Each party complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. For checks run on your instruction you are the Data Fiduciary and GVS is the Data Processor. Our handling is described in the privacy policy and the Trust Centre.

10. Liability

We are liable for our own negligence in performing a check. We are not liable for hiring decisions you make, for a source's inaccuracy where we reported the source faithfully, or for indirect or consequential loss. Our aggregate liability is limited to the fees paid for the check giving rise to the claim, except where the law does not permit that limit.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end service where consent has not been obtained, where the purpose is unlawful, or where invoices remain unpaid. You may stop instructing checks at any time. Checks already in progress remain chargeable.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction.
