Privacy policy
How we handle personal data, what we do with it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Last updated: 28 July 2026
1. Who we are
Genuine Verification Services Private Limited ("GVS", "we"), registered office New Delhi, India. We provide employee background verification and due diligence services to employers.
For checks we run on behalf of an employer, that employer is the Data Fiduciary and GVS is the Data Processor acting on its instructions. For data you give us directly, for example through a form on this site, GVS is the Data Fiduciary.
2. What we collect
From candidates
Only what the requested checks require: name, contact details, identity document numbers, employment history, education records, current and permanent address, and where the specific check calls for it, court records, credit information and directorship records.
From site visitors
What you type into a form on this site: name, work email, phone, company and what you want to verify. Plus standard server logs.
3. Why we use it
- To carry out the verification checks an employer has requested and a candidate has consented to.
- To evidence the result of those checks to the requesting employer.
- To respond to a sales or support enquiry you sent us.
- To meet our legal, audit and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use it for advertising or automated profiling.
4. Consent
We do not begin a candidate check without recorded consent naming the checks authorised. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by writing to support@genuineverification.com. On withdrawal we stop processing, and we tell the requesting employer that we have stopped. Withdrawal does not undo processing already lawfully carried out.
5. Who we share it with
- The requesting employer. They receive the report they commissioned.
- Verification sources such as a former employer, university, court registry or issuing authority, and only the minimum needed to confirm a specific fact.
- Service providers who host or transmit data for us, under contract and confidentiality.
- Authorities where the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
For the retention period agreed with the client or required by law, whichever is longer. After that it is deleted. Enquiry data from this site is kept for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and our records of it.
7. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections. Access is role-based and limited to staff working the case. We operate an ISO 27001 certified information security management system. Incidents are logged, investigated, and reported to affected clients and, where required, to the Data Protection Board.
8. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask us to give you a summary of your personal data and how it is processed, correct or complete inaccurate data, erase data where the law permits, nominate someone to exercise your rights if you cannot, and withdraw consent.
Where GVS acts as Processor for an employer, we will pass your request to that employer and support them in answering it.
9. Cookies
This site uses only what is needed to serve pages and remember your form input. We do not run advertising trackers on it.
10. Grievance officer
Write to support@genuineverification.com, marked "Data protection". We acknowledge within 3 business days and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
11. Changes
If we change this policy we update the date at the top. Material changes affecting candidates are notified to the employers who commissioned the checks.
