What an employment check confirms
Employment verification confirms what a candidate did, for whom, and for how long, with the employer rather than with the letter the candidate hands over. A relieving letter is a document; a confirmation from HR, set against the statutory record, is evidence. The gap between the two is where most employment fraud lives.
The company as declared, checked against MCA and ROC records to confirm the entity actually exists.
Confirmed with the employer and cross-checked against the UAN service history.
The title held at exit, and at joining where the two differ.
As the employer records it, set alongside what the candidate declared.
Whether the employer would take the candidate back. Often the most useful line in the whole check.
Whether notice was served, dues were cleared and the relieving letter was issued.
Sources. HR or an authorised signatory at the former employer, the UAN and EPFO service history, the relieving letter and payslips, and MCA or ROC records to confirm the employer is a real entity. Where the employer will only confirm dates and title, the report says so rather than presenting a partial answer as a full one.
How it works
Five steps, because a managed check has to survive an employer who does not answer the first email.
- 01 Consent and history collected The candidate consents and gives the employment history you want checked.
- 02 Statutory record pulled UAN and EPFO service history is retrieved, which confirms dates without waiting on anyone.
- 03 Employer contacted HR or an authorised signatory is approached through the channel that employer accepts.
- 04 Escalated if unanswered If HR does not respond we go to the reporting manager or the registered office, and tell you where the case stands rather than letting it sit open.
- 05 Report published The confirmation, the source of it, and anything the employer declined to confirm, all annexed to the case.
